Don Felix Sarda y Salvany
Kolbe’s Greatest Books Volume 84
Félix Sardà y Salvany (1844 – 1916) was an exemplary Spanish Catholic priest. Sylvany, perhaps more than anyone else, perceived the pernicious challenges of Liberalism to the integral Christian unity of society. Sylvany argued that liberals qua liberals, that is true liberals, could not be good Catholics.
He evaluated liberalism as an ideology of absolute popular sovereignty that was an affront to the sovereignty of God. “Liberalism strikes at the very foundations of faith; it is heresy radical and universal, because within it are comprehended all heresies. In the practical order it is a radical and universal infraction of the divine law, since it sanctions and authorizes all infractions of that law.”
